Oxford is approximately 6 miles from Abingdon. The bus service runs every 20 minutes during the day. There is an excellent Park & Ride Car Park on the outskirts of Oxford.
Oxford is considered one of the great centres of European learning and there no fewer than 653 buildings of historical and architectural beauty.
Among the famous buildings there are the Bodleian Library, Christ Church Cathedral, The Ashmolean Museum, Radcliffe Camera, and the Sheldonian Theatre. To celebrate May morning choristers sing from the top of Magdalen College, whilst revelers congregate below.
A frequent express coach service goes to London from Oxford. There are also regular coach services to Heathrow and Gatwick Airports. Oxford train station has a good service to Birmingham International Airport. It also provides good services to most places in England, Scotland and Wales.
